Co-founder of Paracelsus, Dr. Simon Barker, N.D. treats people of all ages for all conditions with an emphasis on the care of patients with cancer and hormonal imbalances such as hypothyroidism, menopause, osteoporosis and diabetes. He uses a wide variety of alternative health care approaches including therapeutic diets, exercise, nutritional supplementation, herbal medicine, homeopathy, mistletoe and IV therapies.
EDUCATION AND TRAINING
Dr. Barker holds a BA and an MA from the University of Connecticut and a doctoral degree in Naturopathic Medicine from Bastyr University in Seattle. He also studied for three years at the School of Homeopathic Medicine in Darlington, England and has done additional training in Transgender Health.
MEMBERSHIPS AND RECOGNITION
Dr. Barker taught Endocrinology at the University of Bridgeport School of Naturopathic Medicine in Bridgeport, Connecticut. He has written questions for the national Naturopathic licensing exams. He has served as the vice-president of the Connecticut Society of Naturopathic Physicians and is the past President and former Legislative chair of the California Naturopathic Doctors Association. He has been a member of the House of Delegates of and chaired the Professional Affairs Committee for the American Association of Naturopathic Physicians. He is an active member of the Oncology Association of Naturopathic Physicians.
Dr. Barker has been a guest on Veria’s “Naturally Delicious” and KVCR’s “It’s Your Call.” He also appeared on PBS’ “American Health Journal” series about Naturopathic Medicine.
Dr. Barker was named “Doctor of the Year” by the California Naturopathic Doctors Association in 2015.
